WE ARE TACTO

Our History

TACTO is a specialized therapy center whose goal is to provide comprehensive care, adapting to each individual's needs and prioritizing their well-being. We support children, adults, and their families, accompanying them in the various settings of their lives.

TACTO was founded in 2020, a dream that has been nurtured over years of love and perseverance. Since then, we’ve grown significantly. The heart of Tacto has always been occupational therapy, but we’re proud to say that over the years the team has grown, currently boasting a multidisciplinary team of speech therapy, psychology, and pedagogy professionals.

We are a creative and innovative team, which has led us to go beyond the boundaries of the clinic, participating in numerous recreational and adapted sports projects. Our mission is to provide the necessary support at every stage of the process. Thus, we focus on offering all the services required for each person’s development, supporting families every step of the way.

IANIRE VIDORRETA CAMACHO

Center director and occupational therapist

My name is Ianire. I’m an occupational therapist by profession and vocation. My first contact with therapy was with children, and from then on, I knew I wanted to dedicate myself to it.

I returned to the island, where I grew up, right after finishing my degree in 2015. Since then, I’ve been working with children in various settings. If there’s one thing that defines me, it’s being relentless, so aside from working in clinics, adaptive sports, schools, and giving educational talks, I’ve been constantly learning. I completed my studies with a Master’s degree in Nervous System Sciences, specializing in neurorehabilitation. I also completed CLASI training in sensory integration. I also began my training with an introduction to the Bobath method in pediatrics, which I continue to work with, and I’m currently completing specific training in feeding disorders.

But above all, I’ve learned from you, from the parents and children I’ve worked with over the years, who have taught me the art of living no matter the circumstances, and I’m proud to be able to be part of your daily lives, contributing my bit, compared to everything you contribute to me and teach me.

LAURA FERNÁNDEZ CABRERA

Coordinator and occupational therapist

My name is Laura Fernández Cabrera. After four years of training, I graduated in Occupational Therapy from the University of Zaragoza.

My passion for therapy and well-being has led me to constantly train, expanding my knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive care to each family. I am always looking for new ways to learn and grow, so I can continue to contribute my best in every intervention. My calling for pediatrics motivated me to specialize with a Master’s degree in Early Intervention, which has allowed me to delve deeper into child development and how to intervene early to improve the future of the little ones. I completed the CLASI (Certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration), a specialization in Sensory Integration. In addition, I have training in Feeding Problems in Childhood and in Neurorehabilitation, where I completed training in Introduction to the Bobath Method, an essential approach to neurological rehabilitation, which allows for more specialized treatment adapted to the needs of children and those patients with neurological disorders.

My work goes beyond that; I fully commit to each project because I believe in the positive impact a personalized and human approach can have on families’ quality of life. My calling is to improve the autonomy and well-being of children and their families by providing close, ethical, and high-quality support.

TAMARA HERNÁNDEZ JORGE

External events coordinator and occupational therapist

My name is Tamara, and I’m an occupational therapist. Since I was little, I’ve wanted to dedicate myself to something that would help many people, and without realizing it, I stumbled upon occupational therapy. From the moment I learned about this profession, my calling became a reality.

After four years of training, I completed my degree at the University of Granada. Since then, I have continued to educate myself and continue learning about the diverse areas of work that this profession encompasses: neurological, physical, psychological, geriatric, and pediatric rehabilitation. I found a space where I could continue growing, both professionally and personally, in pediatrics. Therefore, I decided to train in this field by first completing a master’s degree in Intervention in Functional Diversity in Childhood, where I have been trained in different treatment approaches, such as the DIR-Floortime model, the use of new technologies, and therapeutic management in pediatrics in the aquatic environment, among others. And continuing with specific training, such as the Certification in Sensory Integration from the University of Southern California, and nutrition, giving me a holistic approach to treatment for children and their families.

In addition to all this, I have completed several volunteer work and courses to maintain my continuous learning, which is essential to our work, and thus allow us to provide the best possible service to families.

MARIAN SÁNCHEZ GUADALUPE

Coordinator and occupational therapist

My name is Marian, and I am an Occupational Therapist, a graduate of the University of Salamanca. From the moment I discovered the profession of Occupational Therapy, I was very clear that this would be my future career, and every day I am more proud, happy, and convinced of the decision I made.

During my studies, I had the opportunity to learn about the work of a therapist in different fields, which made me fall even more in love with this profession. I developed a strong interest in neurorehabilitation and pediatrics, although I have always had a greater inclination toward pediatrics, which is why I trained in Sensory Integration at the University of Southern California. Working with children is my passion, which is why I always give my all to each of them and their families. I believe in and defend rehabilitation through play, as this is children’s main activity, and through it we learn and have fun. Today, I continue to train in the different areas that affect children and families in their daily lives.

Occupational Therapy is very broad, so it’s important to continue training, not only to improve as a professional, but also to offer our clients the best possible care.

RAÚL ESPINO NIZ

Occupational therapist

I’m Raúl, a graduate in Occupational Therapy. I have a great passion for working with children.

My goal is to accompany each child in their development, enhancing their abilities and providing them with tools so they can function more independently in their daily lives. Throughout my training, I have specialized in Aquatic Therapy with children, a methodology that leverages the properties of water to stimulate the motor, sensory, and emotional development of young children. Through play and exploration in this environment, children can improve their coordination, balance, strength, and self-confidence.

I believe in a personalized approach, in which each child is unique and deserves strategies tailored to their needs and strengths. My work is not only aimed at children but also at their families, providing support, advice, and tools so they can continue stimulating their development at home. I am motivated by seeing each child’s progress and being part of their growth process.

MERITXELL JAÉN RODRÍGUEZ

Speech therapist

Let me introduce myself. My name is Meritxell, and I was born in Lanzarote. In 2014, I decided to study speech therapy at the University of La Laguna (Tenerife).

I always knew that my work would be based on helping everyone in need. This, combined with the communication skills I’d possessed since I was a child, fueled my desire to learn more about speech therapy. However, once I began my studies and discovered the different fields covered by speech therapy, I fell even more in love with what is now my profession. Due to my interest in various voice disorders, in 2015 I completed the Seminar on Speech Therapy and Biomedical Applications of Voice Quality Analysis. However, after completing an internship at a nursery school, providing Early Intervention, I realized that the satisfaction I derived from seeing every small progress, every tiny step children took in their first years of life, would lead me to continue growing professionally with the little ones. At a professional level, I have had the opportunity to work with both children and adults, conducting the detection, evaluation, rehabilitation, and prevention of human communication disorders: speech, voice, hearing, and other nonverbal functions such as swallowing.

I would love to raise awareness and demonstrate the importance of communication in our daily lives, to be able to express ideas, feelings, and needs to the people around us. Therefore, I believe that language (in all its aspects) is a right we should all enjoy.

VIRGINIA FERNÁNDEZ CABRERA

Pedagogue

I have a degree in Pedagogy from the University of La Laguna and specialized training in various areas related to child development and learning. I have an expertise in ADHD, learning disorders, and behavioral disorders, as well as a university course in Psychoeducational Intervention in Autism.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Neuropsychology, which allows me to continue training and delve deeper into the latest methodologies and approaches for effective intervention in the educational field. I have also completed several courses focused on adaptations for BBJ, expanding my skills to offer personalized solutions and make the necessary adaptations. My goal is to provide specialized care to improve the well-being and development of children and adolescents, always working in collaboration with families and educational centers.

Ainara Espinosa Niz

Pedagogue

My name is Ainara, and I’m a pedagogue trained at the University of La Laguna. I continue my professional development because I firmly believe that learning never ends.

There are always new knowledge, tools, and experiences that enrich the way I support those who need it. From a young age, I’ve felt a clear calling for the world of education, which has led me to dedicate myself to pedagogy with enthusiasm and commitment. I’m passionate about accompanying each person on their journey, helping them discover their abilities, overcome difficulties, and build self-confidence. I believe that everyone has unique potential, and my role is to offer support and resources so they can fully develop it.

For me, pedagogy isn’t just about teaching, but also about listening, motivating, and creating a supportive and safe environment where everyone feels understood and valued. I see learning as a personal journey that not only improves academic performance but also strengthens self-esteem, autonomy, and personal growth. My greatest satisfaction is seeing how, step by step, each person progresses, discovering what they are capable of achieving and enjoying their own learning process.
